The event will benefit A Life Story Foundation (ALSF), founded by Southeast Florida resident Kevin Swan after his diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at just 30-years-old.

ALS, more popularly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS has no known cause or cure, but Swan and ALSF are rallying to change that.
“ALS is not the story of my life – I am not defined by it, it is merely a diagnosis,” said Swan. “Our foundation is going to make this disease a household name by not only raising awareness but creating action.”
A Life Story Foundation was created shortly after Swan was diagnosed with ALS in February of 2012.
