Prediq Media + Owls For Good
Giving Tuesday is a favorite movement in our offices. With so much consumerism during the holiday season, it can be hard to keep in mind what matters, like the amazing work so many nonprofits do for local communities and citizens around the globe. Our CEO, Alex Oliveira, has been working with over 50 students from FAU alongside Professor Ann Root to create the Owls For Good project, which was designed to help more than 20 nonprofits in South Florida. Over the past 4 months the group has worked together to improve each nonprofits’ website, create and optimize their Google Adwords campaigns, create individual Giving Tuesday strategies and create impactful Social Media Marketing plans. One of the central goals was to help the nonprofits raise funds on November 29, 2016 – also known as #GivingTuesday. Below are some of the nonprofits we collaborated with for Owls For Good. Just click on the logo to visit their site, learn about their mission and donate to your favorite cause.
What Is Giving Tuesday? #GivingTuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season and is fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season (Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday).
Why Should I Get Involved? Simply put: you help those in need. You also get a tax deduction (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-organizations/charitable-contribution-deductions). Nonprofits play a critical role in providing services to your local community. Funding from government agencies has decreased quite a bit in the last decade, and corporate grants are not as easy to come by either. Many nonprofits depend on donations from the public, and participating in #GivingTuesday is a great way to kick off the charitable season.
How Can I Contribute? The best way to get involved in #GivingTuesday is to look to your local nonprofit organizations. Whether you’re passionate about supporting children, helping the homeless, feeding the elderly or saving animals, there’s no shortage of nonprofit organizations doing good in every community across the US. You may also find causes on the Giving Tuesday website or other websites like GoFundMe.

At Prediq, we are, and have always been, committed to growth and progress in order to best serve our clients. As we all continue to adapt to the “new normal” resulting from the COVID-19 global pandemic, we have the resources and are ready and able to help your business not only navigate the changes, but discover new opportunities to come out stronger than before.
In a digitally-driven world, communication and connection are king, and we recognize the need to provide our clients with various ways to both connect with us and with their own customers and clients. We communicate daily with our global team virtually, and have expanded our communication tools over the past 4 years, using video communications such as Zoom, Google Hangouts and Skype to virtually connect with our clients when face-to-face meetings are not possible. We’ve assisted many clients in adopting these types of communication channels, as well as new remote working platforms and more, to stay connected and help smooth the transitions.
As the business landscape readjusts, we’ve transformed our strategies to reflect those changes, and we remain as committed as ever to providing an unparalleled customer journey. We are refocusing energies and reengaging with our clients, and like most businesses, we’re reassessing and optimizing our efforts. And we’re facilitating transitional strategies to support and assist our clients as they restart their marketing efforts in innovative ways designed to enhance performance in today’s challenging climate. We’re here with you, looking forward to brighter days and a bright future ahead. Feel free to check out this video where our CEO, Alex Oliveira, shares tips on Digital Marketing during the pandemic.
